I grew up in LaPorte, Indiana and graduated from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997.  I went on to Indiana University School of Medicine in 2001 and completed my residency at Bayfront Medical Center in 2005. I am certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

I decided to go into medicine when I was in high school.  I wanted to choose a profession where I could solve problems and assist others.  I did not decide on the path of  OB/GYN until I did my OB rotation in medical school.  I enjoyed the variety of being in the office, delivering babies and multiple surgical procedures. My philosophy is to provide comprehensive OB/GYN care to the best of my knowledge and skills.  Most importantly to be a good listener so I can understand my patient’s needs to devise a specific treatment plan.

I love being an advocate and taking care of women throughout the varies stages of their reproductive lives.  The joy of sharing in the intimate moment during the birth of a child is an honor.  OB/GYN is a profession that allows me to share the journey of pregnancy, to address menstrual problems from puberty through menopause and to provide emotional support in joyful times and in times of sorrow.  I also enjoy educating patients in the office and performing surgical procedures that can assist in improving the quality of a woman’s life.

I love spending time outdoors: I have always loved gardening since childhood.  My family owned a horticulture/florist business that I worked at from an early age. Recreational activities I love include hiking, biking and running outdoors.  In the summer I play on the Women’s Clinic co-ed softball team. I am a huge fan of college and professional football.  My teams are Notre Dame, The Bears and The Cubs.  The 108 year wait for the Cubs to win the World Series was amazing!
