I graduated from Colby College in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned a Doctorate of Philosophy from University of California Davis in 2000 and a Doctorate of Medicine in 2002. I completed my residency at the University of Vermont, Fletcher Allen Medical Center in 2006. I am certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and am a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
I was born and raised in San Diego as part of a large family. As a teen I had acute and chronic health problems that kept me in hospitals for extended periods of time. During this time, as a patient, I experienced both incompetent and exceptionally compassionate care, and it made me realize, at a young age what a difference good medical care can make in someone’s healing process. I think that was when I decided I wanted to be a doctor. Ever since then, taking care of people has always seemed like the right way to live my life, both professionally and personally. I choose to specialize in OB/GYN care because it offers a unique opportunity to care for woman from the time they experience the transition of puberty to their geriatric years. (Plus delivering babies is so cool).
I love spending time with my husband John and our blended family of 4 young adult children and 4 dogs. We hike, cycle, run and just enjoy our life together.
